(Ailgyfeiriad o God Save the Queen)

Anthem a geir mewn sawl gwlad, yn arbennig y gwledydd sy'n aelod o'r Gymanwlad, yw God Save the King neu God Save the Queen. Hon yw anthem genedlaethol y Deyrnas Unedig a thiriogaethau tramor Prydain. Mae fersiwn o'r anthem hefyd yn anthem genedlaethol Ynys Norfolk, un o ddwy anthem genedlaethol Ynysoedd Caiman a Seland Newydd (ers 1977) ac anthem brenhinol Canada (ers 1980), Awstralia (ers 1984), Ynys Manaw, Jamaica, Liechtenstein, Twfalw a Norwy (Gud Sign Vår Konge God). Dyma anthem genedlaethol de facto Lloegr hefyd, er nad oes gan y wlad honno anthem genedlaethol swyddogol, a genir cyn gemau pêl-droed a rygbi rhyngwladol ac ar achlysuron eraill.

Fersiwn safonol y Deyrnas Unedig

God Save the King (fersiwn safonol)

God save our gracious King,1
Long live our noble King,
God save the King;
Send him victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us;
God save the King.
O Lord, our God, arise,
Scatter his enemies,
And make them fall.
Confound their politics,
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix,
God save us all.
Thy choicest gifts in store,
On him be pleased to pour;
Long may he reign;
May he defend our laws,
And ever give us cause
To sing with heart and voice
God save the King.*

* Pan mae'r un sy'n teyrnasu yn fenywaidd newidir y geiriau yn y llinell olaf i "with heart and voice to sing/ God Save the Queen". Newidir hefyd "Scatter Her Enemies" yn "Scatter Her Enemies".

Yn 1822 ychwanegwyd y pennill hiliol canlynol:

Lord, grant that Marshal Wade,
May by thy mighty aid,
Victory bring.
May he sedition hush,
and like a torrent rush,
Rebellious Scots to crush,
God save the King.[1]

Nid oes fersiwn ddiffinadol o'r geiriau, ond ystyrir gan rai y fersiwn â thri phennill i fod yn fersiwn safonol y Deyrnas Unedig. Ymddangosodd y fersiwn hon yn Gentleman's Magazine 1745, ac mewn cyhoeddiadau megis The Book of English Songs: From the Sixteenth to the Nineteenth Century (1851),[2] National Hymns: How They are Written and how They are Not Written (1861),[3] Household Book of Poetry (1882),[4] a Hymns Ancient and Modern, revised version (1982).[5] Mae'r un fersiwn, ond heb yr ail bennill, yn ymddangos yn Scouting for boys (1908),[6] ac ar wefan Llywodraeth y Deyrnas Unedig, "Monarchy Today" website.[7]
