Cumberland and Westmorland-&-Furness[golygu cod]

Ei-wp pawb! Mae fy Nghymraeg yn too poor i olygu'r duladen yma ar ben fy hun, ond the 2-layered authority (Cumbria CC and then District Councils) is now 2 Unitary Authorities:

Cumberland, named after the old county made from Allerdale, Carlisle [Caerliwelydd], Copeland (notably missing Penrith [Penrudd] which, being in Eden became part of W&F);

and Westmorland and Furness, made from Eden and Barrow-in-Furness, and South Lakeland [Ardal De Lakeland].

The ceremonial county of Cumbria still exists but is only officially used in examples such as police and National Trust (think: Gwent).

I may add the new maps from y dudalen saesneg when i get the chance.

I've also noticed there's no reference to the new councils on the pages for Cumberland or Westmorland or any area within (and tbf the English site is still behind on some of these). English Wiki has 2 seperate pages for the new council areas and the old counties as well as the Cumbria and old district areas)

unrelated but I'd like to popularlise 'Cumberland' translating as 'Gwlad Cwmbr' but i know that's inauthentic and in no-ones interest to put on a page like this unless it actually catches on!!

@Jackass cooper: Diolch! I wasn't aware of the coming into being of the new Cumberland and Westmorland authorities at the beginning of this month. We'll obviously need to bring those entities up to date and assign all the Cumbrian towns and villages to the right authority. Everywhere in England is organized by seremonial counties, so the Cumbria category should stay. But please don't even think of using "Gwlad Cwmbr"! We only use Welsh names for places in England (or anywhere) when they have some currency. We don't want to start inventing them. --Craigysgafn (sgwrs) 17:17, 20 Ebrill 2023 (UTC)[ateb]
