Nofelydd o'r Alban ar gyfer oedolion a phlant[1] oedd Joan Lingard MBE (8 Ebrill 193212 Gorffennaf 2022). Roedd hi'n adnabyddus am y gyfres oedolion ifanc Kevin a Sadie, sydd wedi gwerthu dros filiwn o gopïau. [2]

Cafodd Lingard ei geni mewn tacsi yng Nghaeredin, yn ferch Lingard i Elizabeth (Beattie gynt) a Henry Lingard [3][1] ond cafodd ei magu ym Melffast, Gogledd Iwerddon. [4] Mynychodd Ysgol Gynradd Strandtown ac yna dyfarnwyd ysgoloriaeth i Ysgol Golegol Bloomfield.[5]

Roedd gan Lingard dair merch o briodas gyntaf fyrhoedlog. Hyd at ei marwolaeth, bu'n byw yng Nghaeredin gyda'i gŵr, y pensaer Latfiaidd-Canadaidd Martin Birkhans.

Cyhoeddwyd ei nofel gyntaf Liam's Daughter ym 1963. Ei nofel gyntaf i blant oedd The Twelfth Day of July (y cyntaf yn y gyfres Kevin a Sadie) ym 1970.[1] Derbyniodd MBE yn 1998 am wasanaethau i lenyddiaeth plant.[6]Bu farw Lingard ar 12 Gorffennaf 2022 yn 90 oed.[7][3]
