Hanesydd Cymreig oedd Syr Robert Rees Davies (6 Awst, 1938 - 16 Mai, 2005). Cyhoeddai gan amlaf dan yr enw R. R. Davies.

Bywgraffiad

Fe'i ganwyd yn Sir Feirionnydd a'i addysgu yn Ysgol Ramadeg y Bala a Choleg Prifysgol Llundain. Dychwelodd yno yn ddarlithydd yn ddiweddarach. Astudiodd yng Ngholeg Merton, Rhydychen am ei PhD o dan yr athro K. B. McFarlane.^[1] Yn 1975 derbyniodd gadair hanes Coleg y Brifysgol Aberystwyth. Ym 1995 derbyniodd Gadair Oesoedd Canol Chichele, Prifysgol Rhydychen.
