Matthew Francis

Bardd a nofelydd o Sais yw Matthew Francis (ganwyd 1956) sydd yn byw yng Nghymru ac yn addysgu ysgrifennu creadigol Saesneg ym Mhrifysgol Aberystwyth.

Ganwyd yn Hampshire a mynychodd Ysgol Dinas Llundain. Astudiodd yng Ngholeg Magdalene, Caergrawnt, ac ar ôl gweithio yn y diwydiant technoleg gwybodaeth am ddegawd fe enillodd ei ddoethuriaeth o Brifysgol Southampton.

Cyhoeddwyd chwe chyfrol o farddoniaeth (Blizzard, Dragons, Whereabouts, Mandeville, Muscovy, a The Mabinogi), dwy nofel (WHOM a The Book of the Needle), a chasgliad o straeon byrion (Singing a Man to Death). Arbeniga Francis ar waith y bardd Albanaidd W. S. Graham, ac mae wedi golygu casgliad o'i gerddi a chyhoeddi astudiaeth o'i farddoniaeth.
