Putting this category within the category Polynesia is... debatable. Fiji's culture, society, politics and language have all been strongly influenced by Polynesia (notably by Tonga), but Fiji is generally considered to be geographically / "ethnically" located within Melanesia, on its eastern edge, i.e. just outside the "border" of Polynesia.
