Test ArticlePlaceholder

mw:Extension:ArticlePlaceholder is enabled on this wiki. It generates a page on the fly at Special:AboutTopic with Wikidata information about an item. For example, Special:AboutTopic/Q13520818 is a placeholder for the person who is item Q13520818 in Wikidata.

In addition, on this wiki ArticlePlaceholder results are also included in search results for Wikidata items up to, according to InitialiseSettings.php Wikidata entity wikidata:Q16956. This Welsh wiki seems to be the only wiki with this search feature. So as far as I can see, on other wikis with ArticlePlaceholder you have to explicitly link to Special:AboutTopic/QSomeNumber to ever see a generated page.

Test searching

I looked for Wikidata entities with "Q number" below 16956 in Wikidata without pages on this Wikipedia that do have a label in Welsh (cy); I have no idea how to query for such pages, so I just started with https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q16956?uselang=cy and reduced the number until I found a suitable page. I found Tongji University (Prifysgol Tongji in Welsh), so if you search for "Prifysgol Tongji", the results page has a "Darganfod data ar y pwnc" section ("Find data on the subject") and in that section there's a page with a link to the article that the ArticlePlaceholder extension generates from Wikidata for item Q16947 on the fly, Special:AboutTopic/Q16947. Very cool!!! In the search results preview dropdown, the word "Prifysgol Tongji" is in italic, I don't know if italic indicates a placeholder result.

Test red links

What about a link to the missing page Prifysgol Tongji... it's just a redlink inviting you to creat the page. So this isn't as earthshaking as the original wikidata:Wikidata:Article_placeholder proposal to make every redlink display ArticlePlaceholder information
