English: Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan west top. Having ascended the NNE ridge of Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan, I went a short way down the west ridge towards the west top to get a look at the snow in the north corrie of the mountain, since I was always on the look out for good ski tours to return to. Thus this photo was taken from some way west of the main summit, near the little patch of snow on the ridge at the right of this view: 676624. That view is a December one before any great accumulation of snow, whereas this photo was taken on a three-day walk over the Spring bank holiday. Had I carried skis to this remote point, I could have enjoyed about 250m of descent from this ridge, which is probably as good as you could hope for anywhere in the UK by this time of year... |
