English: In May 1941 The Silver Thimble Fund donated two mobile bacteriological laboratories to the Royal Army Medical Corps. This image of one of the laboratories was taken at the presentation event at the Royal Army Medical College in London on 6 May 1941 by Captain Console.

Standing in front of the laboratory are from left to right:

  • Major General H. M. J. Perry (Director of Pathology)
  • Miss H. E. Hope-Clarke, OBE (representing The Silver Thimble Fund)
  • Lieutenant General Sir William Porter MacArthur (Director General Army Medical Services)
