English: Hirfynydd Slab The small stone is a replica of a 9th/10th century carving in the shaft of a wheel cross. This and another stone make up the Gnoll Stones placed in their present position beside the Sarn Helen byway in recent years after opencast coalmine restoration works were completed. More opencasting can be seen in progress in the background. |
