Bywyd Cynnar
Roedd Aphra Behn, yn u o'r awduresau cyntaf i ennill ei bywoliaeth drwy ysgrifennu,[1] . Fe i ganwyd yn Wye, ger Caergaint, ar Gorffenaf 10, 1640 yn ferch i Bartholomew Johnson ac Elizabeth Denham. Bedyddwyd Aphra, neu Eaffry, ym mis Rhagfyr 14, 1640. Gweithiod ei mam,Elizabeth Denham, fel nyrs i'r teulu cyfoethog Colepeper a ddaeth Aphra yn rhan o'u teulu estynnedig.
