Safbwynt Wicipedia yw mai pwysig iawn yw'r gyfraith ynglŷn â hawlfraint. Mae gan dudalennau disgrifiadau ffeiliau tagiau ynglŷn â thrwyddedau a ffynonellau o ffeiliau penodol. Gweithredir hyn er mwyn yn ei gwneud hi'n hawdd i ddarllenwyr, Wicipedwyr, a chrewyr gwaith ac erthyglau gydnabod yr hyn y gallent ei gwneud hi a pheidio gyda ffeiliau sydd ar ein gwyddoniadur ni.

Canllawiau

• Er mwyn i ffeil gael ei hystyried yn "rhydd" dan bolisi defnyddio delweddau Wicipedia, mae'n rhaid i'r drwydded ganiatáu ailddefnydd masnachol a gweithiau deilliadol.
• Mae'n well gan Wicipedia (a phob prosiect Wicifryngau) ffeiliau sy'n "rhydd" lle bynnag y byddent ar gael. Pan nad oes ffeil rydd, weithiau mae'n dderbyniol defnyddiol ffeil nad yw'n rhydd (h.y., dan hawlfraint) o dan ddarpariaeth "defnydd teg". Diffinnir defnydd teg yn hawl gyfreithiol i ddefnyddio ffeiliau a chyfryngau sydd dan hawlfraint yn sgìl amodau penodol; mae gan Wicipedia amodau ei hunan sy'n fwy cyfyngol na'r hyn a ganiateir yn ôl y gyfraith.
• Os yw'n bosibl, dylech uwchlwytho ffeiliau rhydd i Gomin Wicifryngau yn lle Wicipedia. (Mae hyn yn galluogi iddynt gael eu defnyddio ar brosiectau Wicifryngau eraill yn ogystal ag Wicipedia.) Mae'n rhaid i'ch cyfrif fod yn bedwar dydd oed o leiaf cyn ichi allu uwchlwytho ffeiliau. Nid yw Comin yn caniatáu uwchlwytho ffeiliau defnydd teg (h.y., ffeiliau dan hawlfraint), ond gellir defnyddio ffeiliau dan hawlfraint ar y Wicipedia Cymraeg o dan amodau penodol.
• Dylech roi tagiau hawlfraint a thrwyddedu ar linellau gwahanol.
• Ynghyd â'r tag, dylech nodi ffynhonnell neu wybodaeth o'r deillydd hawlfraint. Rhowch gymaint o wybodaeth ag y bo modd.
• Os nad yw' ffeil yn gyfreithiol o dan drwydded safonol, rhowch y gwir drwydded yn ei lle.
• Os ydych yn tagio ffeil oherwydd bod angen priodoliadau arni, dywedwch yr hwn/hon sydd angen ei briodoli/phriodoli.
• Os yw llawer o gategorïau'n mynd gyda'r ffeil, ychwanegwch nhw i gyd.

For image creators

If you are the creator of a file, you can choose any acceptable free license. You can multi-license your file under different licenses, if you prefer. The license must not prevent commercial reuse or derivative works.

• GNU Free Documentation License - {{GFDL-self}} - Written by the Free Software Foundation. People are required to attribute the work to you, and if they make changes or incorporate your work in their work, they are required to share their changes or work under the same license.
• Creative Commons: Attribution-ShareAlike - {{cc-by-sa-3.0|Attribution details}} - This is one of several CC licenses. This version permits free use, including commercial use; requires that you be attributed as the creator; and requires that any derivative creator or redistributor of your work use the same license. The desired attribution text should be included as a parameter in the template.
  • Creative Commons: Attribution - {{cc-by-3.0|Attribution details}} - Similar to the above, but does not require that derivative works use the same license.
• Free Art license - {{FAL}} - A copyleft license for artwork; modification and commercial use are allowed, provided derivative works carry the same license.
• Attribution - {{Attribution}} - The copyright holder allows anyone to use it for any purpose, provided that the copyright holder is properly attributed.
  • Copyrighted Free Use - {{CopyrightedFreeUse-Link|[http://www.yourwebsite.com/ Your website]}} - Same as above, but attribution is not required. However, as a courtesy, you would appreciate a link back to Your website.
• Public domain - {{PD-self}} - The creator permanently relinquishes all rights to the work.

Creating new tags

If you are uploading many files with the same source and license, you can create a new copyright tag. Please propose the tag on Wikipedia talk:File copyright tags. If you are not familiar with how to create templates which add images to categories, please ask for assistance.

Each template should have a corresponding category that automatically contains all the files tagged with the template. On the description page for the category include the following:

where name-of-the-tag is replaced with the actual name of the tag. In addition, include the template in the category Categori:Tagiau hawlfraint ffeiliau Wicipedia di-rydd by adding the following:
